UP and rollin...the blog that is!

Hello and happy Sunday! My blog if finally getting to where I want it to be, thanks to my amazing friend Leah Wilcox, who is obviously much more computer savvy than myself!!! She did a great job creating this page, doing the background herself! I am lucky to have her as a friend, and also as a huge help on a lot of things like all this computer stuff, that I would otherwise not be able to do! So thank you Leah, for helping me look good in more ways than one!!!!

Lately-
Well as most of my friends and fans know I just had back surgery a little less than two weeks ago. So as far as cake making, that is on hold, just until my back is rehabbed. It was a pretty major surgery, so it may be several months before I"m in the swing of things, but as luck has it, I was mostly busy during summer anyways. Seeing as most weddings and such have come to a halt, it was the perfect timing for my highly anticipated (4 years next month to be exact!) back surgery to finally happen!!! I am doing as to be expected after after only two weeks, but happy to be on the road to recovery!

Recent cakes-
I had a busy few weeks before surgery and got to do some very fun, challenging and pretty cakes!!! First was the State Fair cake. I was so happy with the way it turned out, and it ended up doing well at the fair. Several blue ribbons and the people's choice favorite cake for the second year in a row!! I was very happy about that!!!

I also did a huge wedding cake that had been in the works for a year!! Although it was a stressful cake due to its size and the fact that it was a focal point for the couple's reception (no pressure there!), I was happy with the way it turned out and the family was more than thrilled, so that made me happy and felt I had completed my mission!!!

And then there was the for fun cake! I did a cake for the cast/crew of a film that is wrapping up production. They are doing a lot of the movie right here in the Salem/ Keizer area. So I did a film reel cake with real pictures of the cast from the set. It was a total surprise for the producer/writer of the movie and I got to be there when he saw it for the first time. He loved it! It was so neat to get to see his face. And because I did that cake, I will get to have my name in the movie credits when it comes out, so that is definitely something to look forward to!

Well, that about wraps it up for what I have been doing here lately. Since I will not be able to do any cakes here for the next few months, I will be backtracking on some cakes I have done in the past, to catch everyone up since my blog is so new. I hope you enjoy! If you like this page, please tell your friends and get the word out. I would love to have more people enjoy my page! Hope everyone has a great week!!!!
